The University of Edinburgh’s second Futures Conversation aims to explore the systemic nature of the risks we are facing and the dependency between the components of systems for the future economy. It will identify the drivers of such risk, and explore how to change and reshape systems to transform economies and support regeneration and recovery across our planet.

The Future Economy Conversations will explore the role of the future economy in healing and securing our planet. The conversations will assess the systemic nature of the risks we are facing and the dependency between the components of systems for the future economy. In doing so, the conversations will aim to identify the opportunities we have to change and reshape systems to transform economies and support regeneration, recovery, and prosperity for all.

The Future Economy conversations will include speakers such as:

  • Gordon Brown, former UK Prime Minister
  • Dame Susan Rice, the first woman to head a UK clearing bank
  • Chinelo Anohu, the head of the Africa Investment Forum
  • Katherine Trebeck, Senior Strategic Advisor for the Wellbeing Economy Alliance
  • Omar Shaikh, Director and Co-founder of the Global Ethical Finance Initiative (GEFI)

University of Edinburgh experts will also feature prominently, joining a number of other experts from around the world.

Break 1:30pm to 1:45pm
Global Conversations session 2 – 1:45pm to 3:30pm
