The Macrophages@EdUni interest group are delighted to hold the 8th Annual Macrophage Symposium to showcase the amazing work being done in the field of macrophage biology in Edinburgh.
Prof. Sonia Garel (IBENS, France) will be a Keynote speaker, as well as invited speakers Prof. Christoph Schneider (ETH Zurich, Switzerland) and Dr. Oliver Pearce (QMUL, UK).
Local speakers include Prof. Will Wood, Dr. Ananda Mirchandani, Dr. Douglas Gibson and Dr. Aida Rodrigo Albors. A tribute will also be paid to our colleague and founder of this symposium, Prof. Jeffrey Pollard, who died in 2023.

Registration will close on Friday 24th May 2024.
Flash Talks
There will be Flash Talks from PhD students and postdocs with prizes for the best talks in each section. While this was limited to University of Edinburgh PhD students/postdoc in previous years, this is now open to all PhD or postdocs who register.
To submit an abstract, please email your abstract (max 250 words) to macrophages@ed.ac.uk by 26th April 2024.
Presenters of selected abstracts will be notified by 3rd May. Selected talks will be 5 minutes with 2 minutes for questions.
Travel awards
The Professor Jeffrey Pollard Memorial Fund has kindly provided funding to support the travel costs for two PhD or postdoctoral researchers to travel to Edinburgh for the conference. To apply, please download the application form, complete and send to macrophages@ed.ac.uk by 26th April 2024.
