BioQuarter Entrepreneurship Talks

11/05/2023
1:15 pm

Wellcome Auditorium (E1.01), Queen's Medical Research Institute (QMRI), Edinburgh BioQuarter, 47 Little France Crescent, Edinburgh, EH16 4TJ

Starting your own business can be both exciting and daunting. Where do you start? What do you need? Who do you ask for help?

Attend BQ Talks, in-person or online, to hear from successful science entrepreneurs and an investment analyst. Listen and learn from their experiences, meet like-minded people, network over food, and get inspired to start your own entrepreneurial journey.

Following on from the success of KB Talks sessions earlier this year, Edinburgh Innovations is now bringing our entrepreneurship talks to Edinburgh BioQuarter with a twist, in collaboration with the #CVSExternalSeminars series & the iTPA Translational Community.

At this session you will meet successful entrepreneurs who know the ins and outs of setting up a business from scratch. The session will also focus on different sources of funding available to staff and students. This is a great opportunity to learn more about venture capital and how to seek and secure investment.

Talks will be followed by a Q&A and a catered networking reception so there will be plenty of time to chat to the speakers.

Confirmed speakers include:

  • Dr Luca Cassetta – Co-founder & Vice President of Immunology at Macomics
  • Dr Wu Huang – Co-founder at NucBarcoder
  • Louis Marlow – Investment Analyst at Creator Fund & PhD Researcher in the School of Biological Sciences
