University of Edinburgh’s Community Grants now open
Applications for University of Edinburgh’s Community Grants scheme is now open with grants of up to £5,000 available.
The scheme helps the development of projects and sustainable local action through funding and collaboration to support local people’s vision for a better Edinburgh.
Applications are welcome for projects or activities that will involve and benefit people living and/or working in the Edinburgh City Region (The Region includes the City of Edinburgh, Fife, West Lothian, Midlothian, East Lothian and the Scottish Borders.
The aims of the Edinburgh Local Community Grants scheme are to:
- increase engagement between the University of Edinburgh and local communities
- have a positive social impact
Open to not-for-profit organisations and social enterprises.
The application process for Community Grants opened on Monday 8th March 2021 and the deadline is 5pm on Friday 9th April 2021.
In addition, a micro-grant scheme is open all year round for applications for funding of up to £500.
Our Community
Within Edinburgh BioQuarter’s local community, the Venchie Children & Young People’s Project was a previous recipient of the Community Grants Fund. The projects was eet up to provide children and young people with a range of play, recreation and issue-based youth work, they now offer an emergency food service to families in Craigmillar, cooking and delivering 600 meals a day, six days a week.
