Senior Scientist, In vivo Pharmacologist. Galecto, Inc. is a clinical stage biotechnology company committed to the development of novel small molecule therapeutics directed at biological targets which are at the heart of fibrosis and cancer.
The team has developed a deep understanding of the galectin family of proteins and the LOXL2 enzyme, and how both influence multiple biological pathways of these diseases.
New Opportunity
A 12-month fixed term vacancy for a Senior Scientist to help drive the in vivo pharmacology projects at new laboratory facilities within NINE, Life Sciences Innovation Centre on Edinburgh BioQuarter.
This role offers the unique opportunity to be part of, and obtain experience in, the drug discovery process from preclinical through to the clinical phases at a dynamic and growing biotech company.
PhD in pharmacology or similar bioscience.
Skills & Experience
- ex vivo sample analysis including flow cytometry, immunohistochemistry, ELISA, tissue culture, RNA analysis.
- Previous experience of in vivo models in the fibrosis and oncology therapeutic area is preferred.

Main location will be NINE, Edinburgh BioQuarter in Edinburgh, Scotland, UK.
In addition, regular travel will be required between Galecto labs in Stevenage Bioscience Catalyst.
