Meet The Edinburgh BioQuarter Team
Alan is a vastly experienced commercialisation professional with a strong blue-chip, start-up and government RTO leadership track record in energy and water. Boardroom-experience and globally-connected across government, industry and academia. Well-honed leadership, team building, influencing and mentoring skills. Currently operates a portfolio of interests at the intersection of innovation strategy, finance and technology.
Zuzana has an overview of programme team activities and ensures that the programme operates efficiently, on track and within budget. She oversees all aspects of programme and financial management, building close links with partners and the wider life sciences community. Zuzana has a wealth of experience in the public sector having previously worked for NHS Lothian within both its Strategic Planning department and its medicines management team.
Market Intelligence and Networking Manager
Jennifer’s role at Edinburgh BioQuarter is all about helping people on site to meet one another, develop collaborations and take full advantage of the opportunities offered by BioQuarter and its many networks. Her job also involves engaging across Edinburgh and beyond to broaden BioQuarter’s links and strengthen the wider BioQuarter ecosystem.
Business Development, Communications and Marketing Manager
David leads on strategic business development, marketing and communications. Prior to his appointment, David managed external communications for Scotland’s second largest health board, NHS Lothian. He trained as a journalist and, prior to moving into senior marketing communications roles in both the public and private sectors, worked as a reporter and editor for a number of major UK commercial broadcasters. David sits on the Marketing Group which forms part of the Life Sciences Scotland Industry Leadership Group.
Virginia has worked on the delivery and success of the BioQuarter project for the last 10 years. In particular, she has focused on the development and delivery of commercial buildings on site, leasing high quality accommodation to life science companies. Having over 15 years experience as a Chartered Surveyor and with previous jobs in the private sector, she has a wide knowledge of commercial property.
Jeremy is a qualified Chartered Surveyor and works for Savills within the Scottish Commercial Investment and Business Space teams. He acts on behalf of a number of Institutional funds, property companies and private individuals in acquiring, disposing, providing asset management and occupational advice on commercial property. He has been involved in a number of property transactions for a variety of investors and occupiers. Jeremy is also an RICS Registered Valuer.
